My Family Reunion 2006
Collage
For our family scrapbook
Back in 2006, I organized a family reunion in Puerto Rico. The gift to be given to each family was a scrapbook. Every page in the scrapebook would hold a montage of old and new photos for each family unit and an excerpt from a poem written by Luis Lloréns Torres. The poem is at the last page of this section. This was a very heartfelt and unique experience.
So here I start with my own – the Maldonado–Rivera family. It is customary to use the mothers last name in Puerto Rico, hence the hypen and the second lastname. We grew up in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
